Meeting Minutes Template

A standard template for general meetings, focusing on key outcomes and actions. Summary, action items, decisions, and discussion highlights ready for an AI meeting note taker to fill.

Free template. Auto-fill from your meeting with Meetily - runs locally, available for Windows & macOS.

When to use this template

The standard meeting minutes template is the default for any working meeting where decisions are made or actions are agreed. It covers the four things that almost every meeting produces: a one-paragraph summary, a list of action items with owners, a list of decisions, and a paragraph of discussion highlights.

Use it for product reviews, ops syncs, finance updates, marketing weeklies, and any cross-functional meeting where you want a written artifact you can hand to someone who could not attend. Skip it for daily standups (use the standup template), retrospectives (use the retro template), or sales calls (use the sales call template) - those have narrower structures that the generic minutes template flattens.

How it differs from siblings

The Project Sync template is similar but adds milestones, risks, and a structured related-documents section. Use Project Sync when you are tracking the same set of items week-over-week. Use this template when each meeting is standalone and you just need a clean record of what happened.

What the AI summary looks like

Meetily fills the Summary as a single executive paragraph. The Action Items table is filled row-by-row, one per task, with the Reference Transcript Segment column pointing back to the timestamp where the task was discussed. The Key Decisions list is short and outcome-focused, not procedural. Discussion Highlights covers the three to five biggest topics in plain prose.

Frequently asked questions

Operators, project leads, and meeting facilitators in any function - product, marketing, finance, ops. The structure is intentionally generic so it works for status calls, kick-offs, and decision meetings without needing a specialist variant.
Meetily transcribes the meeting locally on Windows or macOS, then runs an LLM over the transcript to produce a one-paragraph summary, an action-items table with owners and due dates, a list of key decisions, and a discussion highlights paragraph. The reference transcript segment column links each task back to the exact moment in the recording.
Yes. The default columns mirror the canonical Meetily Pro template, but you can drop the Reference Transcript Segment and Segment Timestamp columns if you do not need traceability, or add Priority and Status columns if your team tracks them.
Copy the markdown and paste it into Word, Google Docs, Notion, or Linear. All four import the markdown table syntax directly. There is no separate .docx file.
Meetily exports the markdown and JSON; from there you can paste into Linear, Notion, Jira, or Asana. Native two-way integrations are on the Pro roadmap, not the current release.
